It was hot in Denver today, about 93F so we wanted to cool off by trying
river tubing in Clear Creek in Golden CO. Back in the spring, I bought 2 Intex River Run Tubes from Target.com for about $15.00 each. Our tubes are 53" diameter circle with mesh bottom to keep cool, backrest for comfort, 2 heavy duty handles (with rope), and 2 cup holders for drinks. We finally got to use them today. We drove about 30 minutes west to
Lions Park in Golden CO.
Clear Creek is one of the best tubing areas close to Denver. Clear Creek Whitewater Park offers exciting ripples, waves, and drops. Anybody looking for a lazier float can avoid a lot of the white-water by choosing the right stretch of creek. This one is also not too long, so you'll be fine with one car and hiking back at the end of the float to do it again!
What did you do today?
