256th New Thing - Downloaded Ice Cream Sandwich

Today, since I since I have a Droid Razr by Motorola and an Android operating system, I received info that the new Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) was available to download. The upgrade for Droid Razr and Droid Razr Maxx was announce on June 22 2012. Ice Cream Sandwich features upgraded functionality and new features, such as Face Unlock. By looking directly at the screen, the smartphone recognizes its owner and automatically unlocks the device. It also includes Direct Access Lock Screen, which allows you to easily open camera, text messages, and dialer from the lock screen. It claims to have easy multitasking, rich notifications, customizable home screens, resizable widgets, and deep interactivity, amongst other things. The upgrade also enhances the voice input technology, typing your words as you speak emails or texts. Speak continuously for paragraphs at a time, add punctuation and even edit mistakes with voice input.

Unfortunately, I downloaded the upgrade at work and didn't have much time to play with it yet for the full report. I can tell the system is faster and slicker though.

Chilly's Snoballs (3940 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie LA 70006) - Sampled a few and then ordered 8oz Douberge and 8oz Wedding Cake from the drive-thru. Commander’s Palace (1403 Washington Ave, New Orleans LA 70130) - Soups 1-1-1 (Turtle Soup, Creole Gumbo du Jour, Soup du Jour), Commander's Crisp Romaine Salad, and Creole Tostada; and, of course, a 25¢ Martini (does it really matter what kind!).
