350th New Thing - Crush Night Out

I didn't have time to post the last night, therefore I'm posting this late as this occurred 2 days ago (Thurs 10/4/12). Since my company sponsors the Denver Broncos , we received a few complimentary tickets to Crush Night Out . Crush is a free fan club for women ( 21 and over)  that offers year-round benefits including annual events, special offers, exclusive premiums, and more! Crush Night Out is an annual event held at Sports Authority Field at Mile High . Tickets were $30 for wine, food, football, raffles, autographs, and photos. More than 800 women showed up for vendors and fine restaurants as well as nail services, fashionista advice, and a chance to stock up on feminine Bronco gear. Soon after, ladies got autographs from current and former players as well as try out their throwing and catching skills on the field. There was even an opportunity to visit the locker room and find favorite players' lockers. Demaryius Thomas showed off the "equipment demo." b...

325th New Thing - Went to a Steelers Game

I didn't have time to post the last night, therefore I'm posting this late as this occurred yesterday (Sun 9/9/12). We went to the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Denver Broncos football game last night at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The game started at 6:30 pm MST. It was a good game. The 1st half was low scoring, only 10-7 by halftime. During the game, Peyton Manning threw his 400th career touchdown throw. It was a 71-yard touchdown throw to Demaryius Thomas, Manning's first as a Bronco and the 400th of his career. The game picked up for the 3rd and 4th quarters. It game was 13-14 at the end of the 3rd quarter. At the end of the 4th quarter, the Steelers still had a chance to win with a couple minutes to go, until Ben Roethlisberger threw an interception pass. Final score 19-31, boo!   Go Steelers!

210th New Thing - Meeting at SA Field

My company has Town Hall meetings once a quarter where all corporate employees sit in a room and listen to the executive team speak about how business went the prior fiscal quarter. Q1 isn't quite over but we discussed our progress. Our meeting was at in the United Club Level of SA Field ( Sports Authority Field at Mile High ). This field is the home of the Denver Broncos (football team in NFL) and Denver Outlaws (lacrosse team in MLL). The stadium can hold 76,125 spectators for games. On August 16th, 2011, The Metropolitan Stadium District announced Invesco would immediately transfer the naming rights to Englewood, Colorado based Sports Authority in a 25 year agreement worth $6 million dollars per year. Invesco paid $120 million for the original naming rights, before Sports Authority claimed the naming rights last year. What did you do today?

59th New Thing - Drank Sailor Jerry's Rum

A friend recommended Sailor Jerry Spiced  Rum to us last week saying it was as good as, if not better, than Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, so we decided to try it. Sailor Jerry's is crafted from the spirit of a selection of rums distilled in the Caribbean. The named was derived to keep alive the legacy of the man, Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins. The name/brand started as a small mom and pop clothing brand in Philadelphia, selling leather goods, sneakers, t-shirts, and other products featuring Sailor Jerry's marks. I made a rum and Diet Coke while watching the Denver Broncos vs New England Patriots football game. Unfortunately, the Broncos lost but the drink was ok. I would say Sailor Jerry is as good as Captain but not better. What did you do today?
