Mile Hi - New Things

We had an appointment for an Entertainment Consultation with ABC Music Video Photography after work today. They are on  Hudson Gardens  suggested vendors list. ABC MVP is a Denver Entertainment Company providing DJs, Photographers, and Videographers for weddings and other events in the area for over 20 years. They offer premium services and professionalism. We are considering a DJ and Photographer Package, not Videographer. The total for those 2 services came to about $3,200, a little more than we'd like to pay. The consultation took about an hour and a half to go over DJ and Photographer services offered. They seem like a very reputable company and are recommended. They received the Wedding Wire Bride’s Choice Awards in 2011. We need to check out other services offered in the area to compare with ABC MVP before deciding on anything. What did you do today?

I was on travelling for a wedding so I didn't have time to post the last few nights, therefore I'm posting this late as this occurred 2 days ago (Sat 9/1/12). We were in the northeast in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area for a few days for my DU classmate's wedding on Saturday. The wedding ceremony was at St Paul Cathedral at 108 N Dithridge Street at 4:00pm. It was a nice ceremony in a beautiful catholic church on the Pitt campus. The reception was at The Fairmont Pittsburgh at 510 Market Street starting at 6:00pm. The Fairmont Pittsburgh hotel offers distinctive guest services and accommodations in a luxury setting located at the heart of Pittsburgh’s business, cultural and retail hub with views of PNC Park, the restored downtown, and the Pittsburgh city skyline. We went up to Genesee today to check out some wedding ceremony and wedding reception facilities. We looked at 4 sites for the wedding ceremony and reception. All areas were affordable and had great views. There was Christie's of Genesee, The Pines at Genesee, Crystal Rose, and Mount Vernon Country Club. In between appointments we had some time to kill so we went to the Buffalo Herd Overlook, Buffalo Bill's Grave, and Boettcher Mansion  (pictured below). There was also the  Lookout  Mountain Nature Center and Preserve next to the mansion with a short Forest Loop Trail that we walked on. On our short 0.6 mile walk, we saw a black squirrel . The black squirrel is a melanistic subgroup of the Eastern Grey Squirrel. Large natural populations of black squirrels can be found throughout Ontario and in several parts of Ohio, Maryland, Michigan, Indiana, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania. I didn't have time to post last night, therefore I'm posting this a day late as this occurred yesterday (Fri 8/10/12). I went to Hudson Gardens  today to check out the wedding ceremony and wedding reception facilities. I looked at their 3 sites for the wedding ceremony. All areas were nice but a little pricey for the Saturday evening time slot. There is the Inn, Garden Canopy, and Welcome Garden Canopy. The Inn is the only indoor log cabin facility with air conditioning, as the other 2 are canopies. The Inn seats up to 250 guests and rental comes with the adjacent Inn Courtyard for an outdoor ceremony. The gardens were pretty, with Monet's place as the crown jewel. A lily pad water pond rimmed in yellow flowers and filled with frogs and fish. It is peaceful, sanguine and hypnotic. Plenty to see and do on the wedding day to keep guests happy. The only issue I see is that the Saturday evening price is higher than I would like to pay. What did you do today?

My sister-in-law's younger sister got married on Saturday in Philadelphia. The wedding ceremony was at Tenth Presbyterian Church at 1701 Delancey Street (corner of 17th and Spruce Streets) at 4:00pm. It was a nice ceremony and at the end the couple walked through the Arch of Swords since the groom is a Marine. The reception was at Hyatt at The Bellevue at 200 South Broad Street starting at 6:00pm. Hyatt at The Bellevue blends old-world architecture with modern amenities. The hotel houses 172 of the city's largest guestrooms. The Bellevue building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The cocktail hour was in the Conservatory on the 12th floor where we ate hot, cold, and passed hors d'oeuvres, and had a few drinks.
