I was on travelling for a wedding so I didn't have time to post the last few nights, therefore I'm posting this late as this occurred 2 days ago (Sat 9/1/12).
We were in the northeast in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area for a few days for my DU classmate's wedding on Saturday. The wedding ceremony was at St Paul Cathedral at 108 N Dithridge Street at 4:00pm. It was a nice ceremony in a beautiful catholic church on the Pitt campus. The reception was at The Fairmont Pittsburgh at 510 Market Street starting at 6:00pm. The Fairmont Pittsburgh hotel offers distinctive guest services and accommodations in a luxury setting located at the heart of Pittsburgh’s business, cultural and retail hub with views of PNC Park, the restored downtown, and the Pittsburgh city skyline. The hotel houses 165 guestrooms. The hotel embraces the city's rich history of art and industry with striking glass and steel features and work from local artists displayed throughout hotel’s accommodations and stands as a testament to the city’s unyielding grace, beauty and strength. The building was also developed according to sustainable design and construction guidelines, as it received a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification at the Gold level from the United States Green Building Council.
The cocktail hour was on the 2nd floor where we ate various cheese and crackers, passed hors d'oeuvres, had a few drinks, and took pictures in the photo booth. The dinner and dancing was in the ballroom also on the 2nd floor where we ate salad, trout, filet mignon, asparagus, potatoes, cake, and cookies, and had some more drinks. Then we did some dancing from the live 8 person band. It was a wonderful evening all around for the happy couple and 200 of their family and friends!
