Eating My Way Thru NM

New Mexico - September 2015, bring your fur baby as it is very dog friendly in Sante Fe
  • Tortilla Flats (3139 Cerrillos Rd, Sante Fe NM 87505) - don't forget to order Christmas style (red and green chile); so good, we had to buy a dozen tortillas to go!

  • Cafe Pascal's (121 Don Gaspar, Sante Fe NM 87501) - small and cozy inside, we shared a community table with other tourists; went for the Tamal Dulce but they don't serve it anymore, so had the Grilled Polenta with Sauted Chorizo, Corn, and Red Chile.
  • Don't forget to stop by the Sante Fe Farmers Market at The Railyard on Saturdays!
  • The Shed (113 1/2 E Palace Ave, Sante Fe NM 87501) - cute, courtyard outdoor patio with a guitar player; had the Chicken Enchilada Plate (with blue corn tortillas).
  • Don't forget to visit Canyon Road for some art shopping!

  • Sante Fe Bite (311 Old Sante Fe Trl, Sante Fe NM 87501) - diner style with another nice outdoor open air patio; highly recommend the Green Chile Cheeseburger, oh so good!
  • Ecco Espresso & Gelato (105 E Marcy Ave, Sante Fe NM 87501) - stroll through The Plaza one evening for Stracciatella Gelato.

  • La Plazuela Restaurant in La Fonda (100 E San Francisco St, Sante Fe NM 87501) - nice ambiance courtyard indoor patio with fountain; Huevos Rancheros, enough said; have a Bell Ringer Margarita (jalapeno tequila) in the Bell Tower Bar on the 5th floor for great views of Sante Fe!
  • If you see a guy selling fruits and veggies out of the back of a pickup truck on the side of the road, buy the Opuntia (aka tuna, prickly pear, cactus); kinda tastes like a kiwi with big hard seeds.

111th New Thing - Took a Zyrtec

If you recall, I went to the dermatologist to get a skin screening for the 1st time back in December. When I was there, the doctor did a biopsy of 1 of the moles on my back (which came back as normal, by the way). The area was healing pretty well until about 2 weeks ago. The area around the wound started getting bigger instead of smaller and oozing. Therefore, I went back to my doctor to check it out. She said I was having an allergic reaction to something, probably the Neosporin . She gave me some new ointment, Vanos , and said I should take Zyrtec until the area starts to get better. Vanos (fluocinonide) Cream is indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid responsive dermatoses in patients. Best results are seen if used twice per day. Zyrtec (cetirizine) is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. Zyrtec can be u...

361st New Thing - Tried on Wedding Dresses

I didn't have time to post the last night, therefore I'm posting this late as this occurred yesterday (Mon 10/15/12). My friend and I went to David's Bridal last night to try on some wedding dresses. I looked on their website a few months ago to get a feel of the type of dresses I like. There are 6 styles: Classic & Traditional, Chic & Modern, Elegant & Luxurious, Glamorous & Dramatic, Destination, and Reception. I like Classic & Traditional the best. There are 5 silhouettes to choose from: A-Line, Ball Gown, Mermaid/Trumpet, Sheath, and Short. I like A-Line the best. I'm considering straps or strapless. It took about 1.5 hours to try on 5 dresses. I liked 2 of the dresses I tried on, both were under $350. My goal is to find one under $200. Here is one of the 'favorites' that I saw online. It is hard to tell if I would or wouldn't like it on myself. What did you do today?
