253rd New Thing - Drank Wailua Wheat

I didn't have time to post last night, therefore I'm posting this a day late as this occurred yesterday (Fri 6/29/12).

Matt's co-worker had a BBQ tonight so I drank a Wailua Wheat by Kona Brewing Co. Wailua Wheat is an ale brewed with tropical passion fruit made in Kailua-Kona, HI. It is golden, sun colored with a bright, citrus flavor at 5.4% alcohol by volume. It is inspired by Wailua Falls where you can swim in a fresh water pool at the base of a cascading waterfall. It is on Maui if you follow the old Hana Highway. It has won a few awards such as a 2011 Gold Medal in the Fruit Beer Category at US Open Beer Championships, 2009 Gold Medal in the Wheat Beer Category at Portland Spring Beer & Wine Festival Oregon, and 2004 Best of the Northwest/Pacific in the Fruit Beer Category at United States Beer Tasting Championships. It is a pretty good beer. I hope I can drink it again swimming in Wailua Falls fresh water pool!

111th New Thing - Took a Zyrtec

If you recall, I went to the dermatologist to get a skin screening for the 1st time back in December. When I was there, the doctor did a biopsy of 1 of the moles on my back (which came back as normal, by the way). The area was healing pretty well until about 2 weeks ago. The area around the wound started getting bigger instead of smaller and oozing. Therefore, I went back to my doctor to check it out. She said I was having an allergic reaction to something, probably the Neosporin . She gave me some new ointment, Vanos , and said I should take Zyrtec until the area starts to get better. Vanos (fluocinonide) Cream is indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid responsive dermatoses in patients. Best results are seen if used twice per day. Zyrtec (cetirizine) is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. Zyrtec can be u...

361st New Thing - Tried on Wedding Dresses

I didn't have time to post the last night, therefore I'm posting this late as this occurred yesterday (Mon 10/15/12). My friend and I went to David's Bridal last night to try on some wedding dresses. I looked on their website a few months ago to get a feel of the type of dresses I like. There are 6 styles: Classic & Traditional, Chic & Modern, Elegant & Luxurious, Glamorous & Dramatic, Destination, and Reception. I like Classic & Traditional the best. There are 5 silhouettes to choose from: A-Line, Ball Gown, Mermaid/Trumpet, Sheath, and Short. I like A-Line the best. I'm considering straps or strapless. It took about 1.5 hours to try on 5 dresses. I liked 2 of the dresses I tried on, both were under $350. My goal is to find one under $200. Here is one of the 'favorites' that I saw online. It is hard to tell if I would or wouldn't like it on myself. What did you do today?
