I bought a few Brussels Sprouts at Albertsons (I don't remember the price) and cooked it for dinner tonight. Brussels Sprouts are a leafy green vegetable are that look like miniature cabbages. The sprout is Brassica oleracea, in the "gemmifera" group of the family Brassicaceae. Brussels sprouts contain sulforaphane, a chemical believed to have potent anticancer properties. I made Dijon Dill Brussels Sprouts from Allrecipes.com with butter, dijon mustard, lemon juice, dill, and black pepper (I also added onions, mushrooms, olive oil, and walnuts). The recipe turned out good, I love vegetables. I served it with pork chops and apple sauce.
