191st New Thing - Tried Wendy's Breaksfast

I didn't have time to post last night, therefore I'm posting this late as this occurred yesterday (Sat 4/28/12).

It appears as if certain fast food restaurants have been experimenting with breakfast items lately. 2 examples would be Wendy's and Taco Bell. I think only select restaurants serve it. We wanted to try Wendy's Breakfast since we received a coupon in the mail for a free Artisan Egg Sandwich with side and drink so we decided to try it. We ordered an Artisan Egg Sandwich (eggs, natural Asiago cheese, Applewood Smoked Bacon, and Hollandaise sauce, atop a honey-wheat artisan toasted muffin) which came with seasoned home-style potatoes (skin-on, natural-cut, home-style potatoes seasoned with sea salt, cracked pepper and garlic powder) and orange juice, and ordered a Mornin' Melt Panini (natural Asiago and Cheddar cheeses, eggs seasoned with salt and pepper, Applewood Smoked Bacon, and tomato with butter and grilled with a panini press). Wendy's Breakfast was average, about the same quality as any fast food joint.

NOLA - October 2018 PJ's Coffee (5432 Magazine St, New Orleans LA 70115) - Goal was The King Cake Protein Velvet Ice but apparently that was only seasonal around Mardi Gras. So I got a PJ's Original Cold Brew Iced Coffee instead. A chain but good stuff. Royal House (441 Royal St, New Orleans LA 70130) - Crawfish Benedict with a side of grits was very tasty. Parran’s Po-Boys & Restaurant (3939 Veterans Blvd, Metairie LA 70002) - Seafood Trifecta (1/3 fried shrimp sandwich, 1/3 fried oyster sandwich, 1/3 fried catfish sandwich *best*) dressed (mayo, lettuce, tomato). Chilly's Snoballs (3940 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie LA 70006) - Sampled a few and then ordered 8oz Douberge and 8oz Wedding Cake from the drive-thru. Toups Meatery (845 N Carrollton Ave, New Orleans LA 70119) - Boudin Balls to go Mother's Restaurant (401 Poydras St, New Orleans LA 70130) - Ham, Jambalaya, Red Beans & Rice Other snacks ...

NOLA - October 2018 Café Du Monde (800 Decatur St, New Orleans LA 70116) - Café Au Lait and Beignets, only a 10 minute wait with some live music and well worth it! Commander’s Palace (1403 Washington Ave, New Orleans LA 70130) - Soups 1-1-1 (Turtle Soup, Creole Gumbo du Jour, Soup du Jour), Commander's Crisp Romaine Salad, and Creole Tostada; and, of course, a 25¢ Martini (does it really matter what kind!). No wait for lunch today. All of it was delish and worth the dress code. Pat O'Brien's (624 Bourbon St, New Orleans LA 70130) - World Famous Hurricane! Antoine's Restaurant (713 St Louis St, New Orleans LA 70130) - Oysters Rockefeller - baked on the half shell with the original Rockefeller sauce created by Antoine's in 1889. South Dakota - June 2016 Laughing Water Restaurant in Crazy Horse Memorial (12151 Avenue of the Chiefs, Crazy Horse SD 57730) - get the Native American Taco, a type of Indian Fry Bread like Naan, with regular taco fixin's like ground beef, refried beans, cheese lettuce, tomato, onions, and topped with salsa and sour cream! For dessert, get the Fry Bread with Wojapi (warm berry sauce). Prairie Berry Winery (23837 Hwy 385, Hill City SD 57745) - Red Ass Rhubarb (semi-sweet rhubarb raspberry wine).
