299th New Thing - Played Waialae Country Club

Matt and I played my old Nintendo 64. I have some old games from when I was little. He also has some games that he brought to CO from when he was little. Nintendo 64 is Nintendo's 3rd home video game console for the international market. Named for its 64-bit central processing unit, it was released in September 1996 in North America. The N64 was discontinued in 2002 in North America by the launch of Nintendo's GameCube. We played Waialae Countr y Club True Golf Club Classics Championship Golf in Paradise. Waialae Country Club True Golf Classics is Nintendo's renovation of T&E Soft's Augusta: Masters '98, which was only released in Japan. WCC is a easy title to pick up and play. Even gamers who wouldn't normally play a golf game might find WCC engaging enough for a full 18-hole course. Upon starting the game, it's possible that you won't even need to refer to the manual, as the game's intuitive controls and user-friendly menus practically play the game for you. The game's main shortcoming: there's only 1 course, the eponymous Waialae course in Honolulu.

NOLA - October 2018 PJ's Coffee (5432 Magazine St, New Orleans LA 70115) - Goal was The King Cake Protein Velvet Ice but apparently that was only seasonal around Mardi Gras. So I got a PJ's Original Cold Brew Iced Coffee instead. A chain but good stuff. Royal House (441 Royal St, New Orleans LA 70130) - Crawfish Benedict with a side of grits was very tasty. Parran’s Po-Boys & Restaurant (3939 Veterans Blvd, Metairie LA 70002) - Seafood Trifecta (1/3 fried shrimp sandwich, 1/3 fried oyster sandwich, 1/3 fried catfish sandwich *best*) dressed (mayo, lettuce, tomato). Chilly's Snoballs (3940 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie LA 70006) - Sampled a few and then ordered 8oz Douberge and 8oz Wedding Cake from the drive-thru. NOLA - October 2018 Café Du Monde (800 Decatur St, New Orleans LA 70116) - Café Au Lait and Beignets, only a 10 minute wait with some live music and well worth it! Commander’s Palace (1403 Washington Ave, New Orleans LA 70130) - Soups 1-1-1 (Turtle Soup, Creole Gumbo du Jour, Soup du Jour), Commander's Crisp Romaine Salad, and Creole Tostada; and, of course, a 25¢ Martini (does it really matter what kind!).
