314th New Thing - Ran in Brooks Trance

Brooks
I bought a pair of Brooks running shoes online last week and wore them to run 3 miles today. Brooks Sports, Inc. designs and markets performance running shoes, apparel, and accessories for men, women, and kids worldwide. It offers neutral, guidance, support, control, trail, and competition running shoes; tops, shorts, long sleeve tops, sports tanks and bras, skirts, outerwear, and tights and pants; and accessories, such as socks, hats, gloves, and bags. The company also provides shoes with smart cushioning systems that instantaneously adapts to a runner’s unique biomechanics, weight, pace, gait, and surface; and biodegradable running shoes. It sells its products through dealers in the United States and internationally. The company was founded in 1914 and is headquartered in Bothell, Washington. As of December 30, 2004, Brooks Sports, Inc. operated as a subsidiary of Russell Brands, LLC. On August 2, 2006 Russell officially announced its sale to Berkshire Hathaway.

I bought Brooks Women's Trance 11 in size 9.5 in Shadow/Hibiscus/Black color. The shoe offers a deluxe ride from heel to toe and delivers total plushness in a tailored package. It has been engineered to include all of the top of the line technologies that Brooks has developed over the past few years. A full-length caterpillar crash pad with independent integrated segments provides an exceptionally smooth laydown and a foam constructed saddle conforms to the foot for a custom fit. Runner's World named the Trance 11 their Editor's Choice in the Spring Shoe Guide in their March 2012 issue. These top features can have a positive impact on your running. Sells online at BrooksRunning.com for $140.0. When I put them on they felt great walking around. After running 3 miles, I think they felt a little stiff and need to be broken in more.
What did you do today?

47th New Thing - Watched Laverne & Shirley

I watched a classic sitcom today from the 70s, Laverne & Shirley . The show aired on ABC from January 26, 1976, to May 10, 1983 and starred Penny Marshall as Laverne De Fazio and Cindy Williams as Shirley Feeney. They were roommates who worked in a fictitious Milwaukee brewery called "Shotz Brewery". The show was a spin-off from Happy Days, as the two lead characters were originally introduced on that series as acquaintances of Fonzie. I watched Season 7, Episode 22, "Perfidy in Blue" originally aired on May 11, 1982. This episode started out with Shirley looking for Laverne's favorite blue purse that she borrowed and lost. Laverne asks where it is because she would like to use it on her date. Shirley lies and says she hasn't seen it. Shirley then watches TV and daydreams that she is in the TV show and married. Laverne is having an affair with Shirley's husband and Laverne tries to poison Shirley. Shirley pretends she is dead. Shirley wakes up and ...

271st New Thing - Visited the Space Needle

I was on vacation so I didn't have time to post the last few nights, therefore I'm posting this late as this occurred 1 day ago   (Tues 7/17/12).   We were in the northwest in the Washington State area for a few days so Matt and my 2 Chicago friends were in Seattle and up the Space Needle yesterday. The Space Needle is a tower in Seattle, Washington and is a major landmark of the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It was built for the 1962 World's Fair, during which time nearly 20,000 people a day used the elevators, with over 2.3 million visitors in all for the World Fair. The Space Needle is 605 feet high at its highest point and 138 feet wide at its widest point and weighs 9,550 tons. It is built to withstand winds of up to 200 mph and earthquakes of up to 9.1 magnitude. The tower also has 25 lightning rods on its roof to prevent lightning damage. The Space Needle features an observation deck at 520 feet, and a gift shop with the rotating SkyCity resta...
